Refining a target market is always a number one for businesses, but in our industry our target market is far more varied – and much larger – than most.

In fact its one of the things our staff like about what they do – knowing that they can help everyone who walks through the door, whether they are creating a home office in their box room or looking to furnish a 25-floor tower block.

Whether customers head to our website, give us a ring, or head to our showroom in Telford, one of the first people they speakto is Stefan Lee, who can stefanput them in touch with the right member of staff to fit their needs.

He said: “I have been working at Chrisbeon for four years and deal with stationery sales, the company’s IT and looking after our website.

“We have a very hands-on company here and if anything needs doing we all pitch in and help. So I can also help out with anything else that pops up.

“It is always interesting work, I like working on the IT side but I also like working wit customers face-to-face to try and help them with what they want. . . often customers have an idea of exactly what they need but in actual fact the word folder can mean so many different things!

“Having the correct information and being friendly and helpful is a major part of dealing with customers, whether they be existing clients or start-ups.

“And the great thing is that we can help customers with whatever they need – whether it is a desk and a chair for their start-up business, or 500 desks and chairs for office branches across the country.

“As I am in the showroom, a lot of the time it is start-ups that come in for second-hand furniture to kit out their office and a bit of stationery for themselves. It’s nice to think that whatever it is they want we can help with.”

The general public, business owners and managers who may be interested in buying Pre-Loved furniture are welcome to pop into the showroom at Telford, where there is also a new furniture showroom.

We also have a showroom showcasing our brand new furniture at our base in Shrewsbury, which can be viewed at any time, seven days a week, during opening hours.

People have been going out to earn a crust for as long as we can remember, but these days more and more are electing to work at home. (more…)

Businessman Richard Hughes has undertaken his first-ever climb of Snowdon in support of a charity his Shropshire firm has taken under their wing for 12 months.

A partner of Chrisbeon, office furniture and stationery specialists with showrooms in Telford and Shrewsbury, Richard joined other climbers in support of the Climbing Out charity.

Sixty climbers tackled the highest mountain in Wales, 1,085m or 3,560ft above sea level, to raise funds for Climbing Out’s five day outdoor activity programmes.

Climbing Out was founded in 2010 by Kelda Wood after she suffered a serious leg injury that had a huge impact on her life.

As a Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Patron, Chrisbeon is supporting the charity for a 12 month period, assisting with networking and fundraising.

Of the Snowdon hike, Richard said today: “I have never done anything like this before, so it was quite a major step into the unknown.

“However, as a Climbing Out supporter for 12 months, I couldn’t refuse Kelda’s invitation to take part.

“The weather was quite bad with rain most of the day and high winds at the top, together with lots of fog which only cleared after coming back down after about an hour and a half.

They closed the railway and café at the top as the weather was very poor.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see very much on the climb, but I had a great day though and really enjoyed it for a great cause and so far have raised over £370.

“I would like to go up again when the weather is better and it is possible to see more of the beautiful scenery.”

In total the Snowdon climb has raised £7,000 towards the funding of five day Climbing Out programmes for young people overcoming a serious injury, illness or trauma.

Chrisbeon office equipment suppliers of Shrewsbury and Telford hope they never have to reciprocate and use the services of one of their biggest promotional merchandise customers.

For BCR of Battlefield, Shrewsbury, are insolvency practitioners who step in to help rescue local companies facing financial difficulty or insolvency.

“It’s the last service we shall ever want,” quipped Chrisbeon partner Richard Hughes, “but we really have struck up a great relationship with BCR who are most professional and we value their long standing custom of our extensive range of promotional merchandise.

“They have been consistently exciting their clients with an extremely wide range of products including branded golf umbrellas, golf balls, coasters , ice scrapers, hand sanitisers, sticky notes and pens in threefold numbers.

“BCR regularly browse our dedicated 160 page promotional merchandise catalogue for new ideas to enthuse their clients.”

Added Richard: “We always try to use our customers’ services where we can, especially when buying cars, vans, phone systems and insurance. But BCR is definitely one customer we won’t be trying to use in the future!”

Said BCR director Nick West: “We use Chrisbeon on a regular basis for all our promotional products because the quality they supply is incomparable and extremely good value.

“The products always go down well at corporate events such as charity golf days, insolvency seminars, client lunches and charity quiz events.

“We have used numerous promotional companies in the past and have always found it to be a confusing process, painfully slow in approving artwork and delays with delivery.

“However, having used Chrisbeon for the past five years, I must say they stand head and shoulders above the rest and I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone locally looking for promotional products delivered with outstanding service.”

Both BCR and Chrisbeon are patrons of the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce.
